At BVHC, we believe everyone deserves access to comprehensive reproductive health services, regardless of their ability to pay. That’s why we accept Title X funding—a federal program that helps us provide essential low-cost or no-cost services like contraceptive care, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, and other preventive health services. With Title X support, we can reduce financial barriers and ensure more people in our community can access the care they need.

However, Title X funding comes with significant challenges. Because Title X explicitly prohibits the use of these funds for abortion services, our clinic must navigate a complex landscape to offer both Title X-funded care and abortion services. This means maintaining strict financial, operational, and service-based separations, which is costly and administratively demanding.

While Title X allows us to provide many critical services, it does not cover the full spectrum of reproductive health care that our patients need, especially abortion care.
