Abortion is legal in Colorado. All are welcome here. Appointments are available within a week.
In 1973, a group of local Boulder Valley citizens founded the non-profit health center Boulder Valley Clinic to assure access to counseling and abortion services following the 1973 Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Over the following years, the clinic expanded its reproductive and sexual health services and in 1987, the clinic moved to its current location on Valmont Road, and our name was changed to Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center. Over the last decade, best practices in reproductive and sexual health care were transformed by the Reproductive Justice Movement which moves beyond the focus on Women’s Health and Rights and asserts that all people deserve to have the power and resources necessary to make health decisions about their gender, bodies, sexuality, and families for themselves and their communities. Our new name and logo, Boulder Valley Health Center, was adopted in our 50th year (2023) and reflects our commitment- as advocates, community leaders, clinical experts, and educators- to creating a non-profit organization that is inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

We provide high quality and equitable reproductive and sexual health services, abortion, and education to all people, including those who face barriers to healthcare.
For more than 50 years, Boulder Valley Health Center has stood as a place of care, compassion, and hope. Every day, people from across our community come through our doors seeking the healthcare they need — sometimes in moments of crisis, sometimes for routine care that keeps them safe and healthy.
The needs have never been greater. Political uncertainty, rising costs, and systemic barriers continue to leave too many behind.
