While our travel guide focuses on Baton Rouge, we provide dedicated support for patients from across the Capital Region, including Central, Zachary, Denham Springs, Baker, and Port Allen.

Flying to Denver

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) offers convenient connections to Denver International Airport (DEN). Our patient navigator team can help you choose travel times that align with your appointment and minimize the stress that travel can create.

  • Airlines: United and American Airlines offer frequent one-stop flights, typically connecting through Houston (IAH) or Dallas (DFW).
  • Flight Time: Total travel time is usually between 5 and 7 hours including the layover.
  • Alternative Option: Many Baton Rouge residents choose to drive 75 miles to New Orleans (MSY) for direct, non-stop flights to Denver via Southwest or United, which can sometimes reduce travel time and cost.
  • Ground Transit: Once you land at DEN, Boulder is a 45-minute trip and you have several options for transportation including:
    • RTD SkyRide Bus (AB Route): This direct bus service runs frequently between DEN and Boulder, offering an affordable and convenient option.
    • Ride-sharing Services/Taxis: Services like Uber and Lyft are readily available at the airport.
    • Rental Car: Several car rental agencies operate at DEN if you prefer personal transportation.

Driving to Boulder

  • Distance: Approx. 1,150 miles
  • Driving Time: Roughly 18-20 hours of active driving
  • Common Route: Most travelers take I-10 W to I-49 N through Shreveport, then pick up US-287 N through Texas and Oklahoma. This route avoids some of the heavier traffic in Dallas.
  • Overnight Stay: We strongly recommend planning at least one overnight stop to ensure you arrive rested and prepared for your appointment.
  • Parking at BVHC: If you are driving your own vehicle from Baton Rouge or the surrounding communities, our clinic offers private, accessible parking specifically reserved for out-of-state patients.

Packing for Your Trip

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
  • Phone, earbuds, and charger
  • A book or quiet activity
  • Pads and extra underwear
  • Personal comfort items for rest or travel

Patient Support: Our patient navigator team can help you plan arrival and departure times that align with your appointment, often minimizing the need for overnight lodging.

Single-Visit Appointment Model: Whenever medically appropriate, we prioritize out-of-state travelers for single-day appointments so consultation and procedure can be completed in one visit.
